We have water!!!

The lake has finally come back up, we are now only 5' low after being 16' low for so long. Fishing continued to be incredible even during the drought and we had 4 boat ramps open and still had areas with over 75' deep water. With the rains that hit our area and in our watershed we came up from elevation 517 to 528, 533 being our normal elevation. With that being said I am looking forward to an awesome shallow water bite this spring when the Gizzard Shad spawn. The areas where I like to throw top water baits and swim baits or even live shad up shallow are all flooded with lots of brush and grass making for the perfect storm for big sow linesiders up shallow. No where to go but around the boat!!! Better come get ya some of that.
Melinda and I purchased the Lake Whitney Views newspaper in June of 2012, the picture paper of lake activity since 1951. We are celebrating and publishin the 61st anniversay edition of the first issue and the opening of the Whitney Lake Dam of March 1951. Be sure and either pick up a copy at one of the many area newstands or go to www.lakewhitneyviews.com and click on the subscription link and subscribe via paypal.
The Boat Show:
Melinda and I set up a booth at the Dallas Boat show this Feb. to help draw business to not only our Paper and my guide service but to help draw attention to Lake Whitney area. We where able to pass out over 1000 visitors guides (lake whitney views yearly publication) to visitors at the boat show and met a lot of fine folks. I was able to pick up several new sponsors at the show and clients as well. You will probably be using there baits when you come fish with me this year. Can't wait to use the new A Rig, this is not a new gimmick but a bait that is definately irresistable to stripers, sandies and black bass. The shallow water bite will be explosive with this new rig. I also met Brian Hughs with the Texas Outdoors fishing show and have started doing the Whitney report ever Sat and Sun you can go to his website for affiliate stations, the local one is KRLD 1080 AM. Also was pleased to meet Big Billy Kinder and will be getting started doing the Whitney spot for his show as well, will post dates times and radio stations as soon as I know more. As most of you know I already do Luke Claytons outdoor show weekly and with the others this will make 3 weekly radio shows that will be airing reports of Whitney Lake, Team Redneck Guide service and the goings on the Lake Whitney Views. Going to be a busy year.
Looking forward to another great year fishing Lake Whitney and as always may God Bless you and yours and hope to "C Ya on the Water."
